In the midst of my research, I found myself at There: Video Lounge for a drag queen show. I arrived 2 hours early, just to get a feel of the environment, acquaint myself.
There was just one hiccup.
The bar staff had been projecting youtube videos over 3 tv monitors, and it was all good fun - a revisiting to the 90's music scene. But, then the gem of all gems came on. I'm not posting it because I downed a whiskey double within the 5 mins this song was playing; I'm posting this video because every person in the bar knew the words and it is very representative of how "in your face" drag is.
Also, it's highly inappropriate, intense, and wildly ridiculous.
